Folks, this post is not for the fainthearted, the dreamers or business opportunists. What follows is an honest, tough love, and rather brutal Wealthy Affiliate review! For those that simply cannot, or wish not hear the truth about Wealthy Affiliate, and what is required to actually make a living online, please simply move on now!
A little about me for some background. Back in early 2008 I was stumbling around blowing a small fortune on products that promised to teach me how to make money online, sadly this is pretty typical these days, many folks get caught in an endless cycle of buying one junk E-Book after another in the hopes they find a magic bullet that allows them to build their own little online financial empire, I was no different!
What ultimately made the difference for me personally, is that I was so frustrated working my 9-8 banking job, as I had done the past 13 years, that I didn’t give up until I found a program that I thought could “really” teach me how to build a totally legit online business, I stumbled by plain dumb luck upon the Wealthy Affiliate University.
After much more research, you know those cautious banker types, I finally decided that the Wealthy Affiliate University appeared to be the best option currently available at the time, so on January 6, 2008, I become a member of Wealthy Affiliate.
On May 8th, 2008 I published my first review to this very blog entitled “Is Wealthy Affiliate A Scam?” Feel free to read that first blog post of mine, outlining my progress with Wealthy Affiliate from January 6, 2008 to May 8, 2008. The truth of the matter, as outlined in my first Wealthy Affiliate review, is that I had done quite well for myself, in a mere 5 months time!
Lets skip ahead now to October 17, 2008 at 12:41 pm. Why do I remember this date and time so well? Because at that date and time I walked into my bank manager’s office, turned in my lap top computer, company blackberry phone, all my loan files and accepted my final paycheck from the bank! Since October 17, 2008 at 12:41 pm, I have worked for no one except myself to this very day!
Ironically, that same bank manager, as well as everyone else I had worked with in that branch, all found themselves un-employed 6 months later, when this nasty recession hit the banking industry particularly hard in California, like the wraith of God, the entire bank itself was swept from existence!
Anyhow, let’s talk a little about the Wealthy Affiliate University!
The Wealthy Affiliate University is the brain child of two very successful internet marketers and entrepreneurs, affectionately known as Kyle & Carson (no relation to myself sadly). These two guys simply got together after much success on the online world, and decided to create an educational resource which pulled together all the knowledge that they had learned, by trial and error of course, and after much massaging they condensed this knowledge into an uber comprehensive 8 week internet marketing training boot camp, if you will!
The Wealthy Affiliate University truly specializes in taking those new or newish, to intermediate level folks to internet marketing, subjecting them to a highly structured, cutting edge training regimen, while providing serious levels of support and coaching when needed, so that the individual is able to learn how to fish for themselves! And they do this very, very well! There is no program currently available online that can realistically (with a straight face) compare itself to the Wealthy Affiliate University…Period.

Now for the Brutal Truth and some Tough Love…
Why is this Wealthy Affiliate Review only the 2nd post I’ve made on this blog since May, 2008? Quite simply, because I don’t like this niche, I don’t really find the whole “how to make money online” niche particularly interesting at all! And more importantly, I make my money in several other niches that have nothing to do with ‘how to make money online.’
As of this date, I am currently active in 5 niche markets. My first niche which is really nothing more than a test niche, in which I use to test out various techniques before applying them to my 4 other “bread and butter” niches. I do not use paid advertising, at all! I use all free methods, free Web 2.0 properties, article marketing, blogging, static mini sites, and a little email marketing in 2 niches, and that is all.
My monthly overhead, if you will, amounts to a little under $200 per month for my online business. However, that $200 per month also is what made it possible for me to leverage myself out of corporate America, as of October 17, 2008…And I learned how to do everything that I do, from the Wealthy Affiliate University.
Let me tell you this, if you truly believe that internet marketing is easy, you are wrong! For those Guru types out there trying to convince folks that their “next” new E-book on how to make a Billion Dollars over the weekend, well, they are lying to you! Period.
Don’t believe me? Keep buying those E-books then, make those Guru’s even richer! And when those same Gurus don’t even send you a Christmas card, or call you to wish you a Happy Birthday, don’t cry to me when you still have not built a stable and lasting business online!
Knowledge is power, knowledge is money! I can assure you, the chance that you will get the knowledge you need to be successful online from a $97 purchase of s0me E-book, are slim to none, you may get a small taste, enough to make you come back for the next $97 E-book, and perhaps the one after that too! Do you see a pattern here folks….?

Anyhow, internet marketing is not easy! Once you are trained properly and you “execute” those lessons learned, it is very rewarding and even liberating, but it is not easy! Typically, I work on my online business at night, I’m a night owl! From about 8pm to 5am I’m sitting in my home office producing new content, or promoting old content, usually one of the two.
My neighbors have no clue what I do for a living, and this amuses me to no end! I’m seen driving off to the beach during in my little Mercedes during the day, and then I disappear during the night to work! This is just my personal preference of course, yours may differ. But the point is, I’m working nightly, just as if I had a real job, except it’s “my” business! I’m “executing” the lessons I have been taught in the past, and making those concepts reality every night, this is how one can be successful online and generate wealth…And with the proper training, ANYONE can do what I do, it really ain’t rocket science here!
This leads me to the real point I wanted to make in this 2nd Wealthy Affiliate review of mine. I have learned this the hard way, the one person who will stop you from succeeding, is YOU! This is the tough love part…The Wealthy Affiliate University has everything you or I will ever need to master internet marketing, I won’t even expand on it further because it’s a given in my mind, it is simply “so.”
However, if you are still in the cronic E-book buying cycle, or if you are looking for some sort of magical potion, system, secret, blue print, master plan, or goodness knows what else is out there these days, then STOP! Invest in yourself, by giving yourself the comprehensive training that one needs to be successful in this field, or quite frankly, Don’t Bother! You must have the proper mind set to be successful online or anywhere else in life for that matter, if you are looking for a super quick fix, to pay rent by the end of this month for instance, please, get real! Don’t Bother!
On the other hand, if you are willing to study and learn, and even more importantly, to then “execute” what you have learned consistently and aggressively, as if YOU OWNED THE BUSINESS, then you will do well, and Wealthy Affiliate will provide all the knowledge and tools you need to do well! If the idea of hard work scares you though…Again, Please, don’t bother! Buy another E-book or something, just being real with you.
In conclusion, I’m no Guru, far from it! Never wanted to be a Guru! I will share this last piece of information (inside secret for the e-book buying crowd out there), from the time I joined the Wealthy Affiliate University in January 6, 2008 all the way up to October 17, 2008 when I left my job, I’m embarrassed to say that I only completed the first 3 weeks out of the whole 8 week action plan over at Wealthy Affiliate!
No joke! I completed weeks 1,2, and 3 and then did not go any further until December of 2008, after I had already left my job at the bank!
So what is the real lesson here folks? Simple, it’s called “implementation,” and “execution!” By only using the methods and techniques contained in the first 3 weeks of Wealthy Affiliate’s action plan, I simply got side tracked by taking massive action, by “doing,” by executing what I had learned in those 3 weeks! Ironically, that’s what it takes to make money, or to replace ones job as I did, sucking it up and just doing it!
Now, for the record I do regret not immediately mastering the full 8 week action plan, I have now done so, but the point needs to be made, even if Wealthy Affiliate only teaches you how to do 1 thing or 2 things very well, for instance, by simply repeating that one thing you have mastered over and over again can bring you a substantial amount of success online, thus is the beauty of the internet!
However, also for the record I must say, don’t be like me! Yes, ‘execute’ but at least finish the whole 8 week boot camp, you will only learn many more diverse and long term methods to generate income online for your business…And then, 6 months or so after you complete your training, come back and write up YOUR Wealthy Affiliate University review!

Thats not all! Wealthy Affiliate provides even more free tools for it’s members use, and all are of very high quality. All members have unrestricted access to the sites keyword research tool, competition spy tool, click bank research tool, and the My-Linker affiliate link cloaking and tracking program! Site Rubix, hosting, and all these other tools are normally purchased for a pretty penny by the new internet marketer individually, not at Wealthy Affiliate! All are part of the basic membership! The savings here alone are very notable.
My personal experience with Wealthy Affiliate. Like many folks, I too was looking for an honest work from home internet business opportunity, and had an intense desire to achieve the simple freedom that goes along with that. I joined the Wealthy Affiliate University in January 2008 and immersed myself in this site’s lessons.

I now know first hand why so many successful internet marketers, including some big name guru types, are Wealthy Affiliate members, and it’s not because Wealthy Affiliate is a scam! It’s because this high quality and cutting edge training site consistently over delivers and remains a necessary tool of the trade for many experienced affiliate marketers.
